About

Chugai Group’s mission is to create innovative drugs for the benefit of patients.

Meet Our Directors

DR HITOSHI IIKURA

Director

Since CPR’s founding more than a decade ago, we have achieved important milestones and delivered excellent results. Initially established to optimize antibodies and identify promising drug candidates, our innovative approach has led us to pioneer new technologies to improve the efficiency and efficacy of drug development.

We have expanded our scope of work to create new projects, especially in the research of antibodies and mid-size molecules. In particular, we are proud that our first made-in-Singapore drug, Crovalimab has recently been launched in Japan for the first time in the world. CPR has also made significant contributions to our mid-size molecule technology platform.

Going forward, we plan to expand our operations and create more hit compounds through display library techniques for antibody screening. By transforming CPR into a permanent overseas research hub of the Chugai Group, one of only two such research hubs, I believe that CPR will play a significant role in the development of innovative new drugs.

I am delighted to be working with CPR to advance its mission to develop innovative treatments that can address unmet medical needs. Within a short space of time, CPR has pioneered cutting-edge technologies that augment the discovery and clinical efficacy of therapeutic antibodies and mid-sized cyclic-peptide drugs against diverse molecular targets.

CPR’s research is making waves in Singapore’s vibrant biopharmaceutical landscape. The launch of Crovalimab, CPR’s first ‘made-in-Singapore’ drug, is a significant milestone with the potential to make a global impact in the fight against rare diseases.

I am inspired by CPR’s passion for innovation and share its commitment to a technology-driven approach to drug development. I am thrilled to join CPR’s Board at this exciting juncture.
