The Automation Unit plays a unique role in enhancing the productivity of drug discovery research. Tell us more about how your team contributes to CPR’s research activities.

The Automation Unit is responsible for improving the efficiency of all research functions at CPR. Advanced automation can relieve our scientists of routine and time-consuming tasks, allowing them to devote more time for innovative activities. For example, fully automated processes are now capable of generating and documenting large data sets. As next generation research models fully embrace AI, this can accelerate the digital transformation of the entire company.

What are your dreams as a researcher?

I hope to create useful drugs that can fulfil the unmet medical needs of patients around the world. Besides developing drugs for the treatment of diseases, I believe there is potential for our research to make an impact across the entire healthcare spectrum in the future. This includes disease prevention, early diagnosis and enhancing patients’ quality of life.

What challenges have you encountered in your career and how did you navigate them?

As a working parent, juggling responsibilities at home and at work is a balancing act. During the pandemic’s enforced circuit breaker period, it was challenging to work from home while looking after my young child at the same time. Fortunately, my husband was there to share childcare duties while my colleagues were also very understanding. As a team, we managed to keep projects on track during that period while maintaining effective communication. This is testament to our cohesiveness and resilience.

How do you spend your free time?

I spend my non-working days playing and bonding with my child. Watching my child grow and learn about the world around him are precious moments to me.

What do you like most about CPR?

I appreciate that CPR is an industry leader in innovation and it gives me great pride to work on potentially groundbreaking projects.
