What is a typical day like in the lab?
I usually begin the day by analyzing the results from the previous day’s experiments, before preparing the equipment for the next experiments to be conducted for the day. While conducting the experiments, I may also need to troubleshoot any issues which arise. During the late afternoons, I will usually be involved in meetings and discussions with my colleagues.
When you were younger, did you ever imagine yourself working in a lab?
My younger self never considered becoming a scientist. However, circumstances led me to this profession. I’m glad I now work in the field of research and enjoy my work in the lab very much.
How do you overcome challenges at work?
During periods of high workload or when faced with multiple demands, teamwork becomes all the more important. It is during these times that working closely with my unit members is the key to navigating challenges successfully.
How do you unwind during weekends?
I’ll usually spend time with my family or catch up with my friends. I also like to play sports such as badminton, basketball or bowling, as well as indulge in video games.
What do you like most about CPR?
What I find most appealing about CPR is the flexibility in our work hours. It truly helps employees to achieve a work-life balance!
